ECONOMY

ISTAT releases June CPI final data (0800 GMT) and May foreign trade data (0900 GMT).

The Italian government appointed Dario Scannapieco on Monday for a second term as chief executive of the state lender Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP).


DEBT

The Italian Treasury said on Monday it will buy back five bonds for up to 4 billion euros ($4.36 billion) at an auction on July 17.


COMPANIES

Private equity funds, including Bain, CVC and Advent, as well as insurer Zurich ZURN.S are studying the possibility of making an offer for FinecoBank, Il Sole 24 Ore reported on Tuesday. One of the private equity funds is also looking at buying Banca Generali, the daily added, without naming the possible offerer.

The Economy Ministry could sell a stake of up 13% in the postal service - keeping 51% under public ownership - and also open the offer to retail investors and company employees, Corriere della Sera reported on Tuesday. It added that for the moment the ministry has ruled out a block sale.

Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti is "cautious" about government plans to raise military spending from 1.44% to 1.6% of GDP in 2025, daily la Repubblica reported on Tuesday, saying the move would cost 3 billion euros.

Credit ratings agency Fitch on Monday raised its rating of the Italian tyre maker to 'BBB' from 'BBB-'.
