ECONOMY
Bank of Italy releases October data on foreign investor holdings of Italian government bonds.
COMPANIES
UNICREDIT CRDI.MI, BANCO BPM BAMI.MI
Germany's government rejected UniCredit's latest Commerzbank stake increase, to 28% using derivatives, as an "uncoordinated and unfriendly approach" on Wednesday, strongly rebuking the Italian bank.
(*) UniCredit aims to complete its offer for Banco BPM by the first half of 2025, Il Sole 24 Ore reported.
STELLANTIS STLAM.MI
Chairman John Elkann, who is temporarily steering the company after the resignation of CEO Carlos Tavares, has agreed to appear before the Italian parliament, the automaker said on Wednesday, without giving a date.
Stellantis expects auto production in Italy to jump by about 50% in 2026 after a "very tough" 2025 in which it will continue factory stoppages, European operations chief Jean-Philippe Imparato said on RAI state broadcaster on Wednesday.
(*) New car sales in the European Union, Britain and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) at Stellantis fell by 10.8% in November, European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) data showed on Wednesday.

A consortium led by the Italian economy ministry has filed a 700 million euro binding offer for Telecom Italia's submarine cable unit Sparkle, the ministry said on Thursday.
The ministry is bidding with Retelit, an Italian fibre network operator owned by Spanish infrastructure fund Asterion. The offer is valid until Jan. 27, the statement said.

Italy' biggest utility and Czech's EPH signed an agreement whereby EPH will acquire 50% of Slovak Power Holding, which owns 66% of the main Slovak electricity producer Slovenské Elektrárne. The deal will have a neutral effect on Enel's net debt and a negative impact on reported net profit of about 585 million euros, Enel said on Wednesday.
(*) The utility's board gave its green light to the issuance of one or more non-convertible hybrid bonds, including perpetual bonds, for up to 2 billion euros by the end of next year, Enel said on Wednesday.

Marco Tronchetti Provera, vice chairman and investor in the tyre maker, told Il Sole 24 Ore, in an interview published on Thursday, that it was too early to say if the shareholders pact with Chinese state-owned Sinochem would be renewed after the shareholdings had changed.

The energy contractor said on Thursday it won, as part of a consortium it lead, an offshore contract from Shell SHEL.L for the development of a deepwater oil field off the coast of Nigeria. The total value of the contract is about $1 billion and Saipem's share is about $900 million, it added.

The Italian electricity grid operator said on Wednesday it signed two ESG-linked credit facilities, one worth 150 million euros with Banco BPM and another worth 100 million euros with Mediobanca MDBI.MI, both with a five-year maturity.

The aerospace company said on Thursday it has signed two contracts with the European Space Agency (ESA) for the development of the new Vega-E launcher and to upgrade the Vega-C ground system and increase the number of its flights, for a total of about 350 million euros over three years.
