POLITICS

Energy ministers from the Group of Seven (G7) major democracies reached a deal to shut down their coal-fired power plants by 2035 at the latest, in a significant step towards the transition away from fossil fuels.


Italy and France on Monday signed a letter of intent to create a joint industrial hub for ground defence involving companies from both countries, an Italian defence ministry statement said, looking to boost the European defence industry.


ECONOMY

ISTAT releases Q1 GDP flash data (0800 GMT); April CPI flash data (0900 GMT); Q1 wage inflation data (1000 GMT).


COMPANIES


STELLANTIS STLAM.MI

(*) The automaker said on Tuesday its revenue fell 12% in the first quarter of the year on lower volumes, unfavourable product mix and foreign exchange dynamics, partially balanced by "firm" pricing power.

(*) Production at three Stellantis assembly plants in Europe will restart in the first days of May, a spokesman said on Tuesday, after the automaker found alternative solutions for the sourcing of parts.

TELECOM ITALIA TLIT.MI

(*) The CEO of the Italian phone group's leading shareholder Vivendi VIV.PA, Arnaud de Puyfontaine, said in a shareholders' meeting on Monday that his company is looking to divest from Telecom Italia.

"We want to find the conditions to write a new chapter in Italy, but no longer with Telecom. I hope to be able to tell you next year that the matter is closed," de Puyfontaine was quoted as saying by the Il Sole 24 Ore newspaper.


A Milan court has cancelled the seizure of 250 million euros ($268 million) from Telecom Italia previously ordered by prosecutors in a case over alleged fraud through the unauthorised activation of services to customers, a court document showed.


PRYSMIAN PRY.MI

Valerio Battista, who stepped down as CEO this month, will receive termination payments equal to 24 months of base salary (2.2 million euros), which will be paid in May 2024, the company said.

Battista also maintains the right to a prorated number of shares at the end of the three-year performance period for the 2023-25 Long-term Incentive Plan, subject to the achievement of the predetermined performance conditions for the plan.

The Italian gambling firm upgraded its full-year adjusted core profit (EBITDA) guidance to a range of 680-700 million euros ($728-$749 million) on Tuesday citing completion of its acquisition of online betting provider SKS365.
