Germany's Rheinmetall, Italy's Leonardo finalise defence vehicle partnership
ROME, Oct 15 (Reuters) -Italy's Leonardo LDOF.MI and Germany's Rheinmetall RHMG.DE on Tuesday finalised a joint-venture for the development and manufacturing of military combat vehicles, the two groups said in a joint statement.
The first announcement of the partnership was made in July, after talks between Leonardo and the Franco-German consortium KNDS had broken down.
The 50:50 joint tank-building venture is seen as a first step in the consolidation of the European defence vehicle sector.
