LONDON, Oct 7 (Reuters) -Northwest European gasoline refining margins declined slightly on Monday to $6.8 a barrel as crude prices continued to rise while exports from the region slowed.

  • A total of 16,000 metric tons of Eurobob E5 barges traded in the Argus window. Exxon, Trafigura and Musket sold to Shell and BP.

  • Another 8,000 tons of Eurobob E10 traded. Shell sold to Varo, TotalEnergies and BP.

  • Shell's refining profit margins dropped by nearly 30% in the third quarter from the previous three months as global demand sagged, while oil product trading earnings also weakened, it said on Monday.

  • Gasoline exports from northwest Europe and the west Mediterranean fell in September to 2.2 million metric tons, down by almost a third from August and by more than a quarter from the same month last year, LSEG analyst Abdul Hadhi said.

  • The drop was a result of lower supplies due to European refinery maintenance as well as waning demand in the United States after the summer driving season ended.

  • Exports to West Africa fell by 40% to a three-month low of 635,000 tons partly due to new Belgian legislation restricting exports which kicked in last month, Hadhi said.

  • India's fuel consumption in September fell by 1.6% year-on-year to 17.92 million metric tons, its lowest in two years, oil ministry data showed on Monday, as above-normal monsoon rains continued to weigh on diesel demand.
