BOGOTA, Nov 25 (Reuters) -Colombia's Satena, an airline operated by the Andean country's air force, has bought nine aircraft in a bid to modernize its fleet for $95 million, general Oscar Zuluaga said in an interview on Monday.
The company bought eight Twin Otter aircraft - capable of carrying 19 passengers - for $80 million from Havilland Canada, Zuluaga said, as well as a 48-seater ATR 42 for $15 million.
The aircraft will allow Satena to expand its offer of short and medium-distance flights with planes that can land at small airports that are unaccessible to larger airliners, Zuluaga said.
