CHICAGO, Dec 19 (Reuters) -Following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CST (1430 GMT) on Thursday.

WHEAT - Down 8 to 9 cents per bushel

* Wheat extends losses to contract lows as a rebound in European Union wheat production is forecast and harvests in Australia and Argentina have exceeded expectations.

* EU production of soft wheat could rise 11% in 2025/26, consultancy Strategie Grains said.

* The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported weekly net export sales of 457,900 metric tons in line with analyst expectation of 225,000 to 550,000 metric tons in a Reuters poll.

* CBOT March soft red winter wheat WH25 was last down 6-1/4 cents at $5.35 a bushel. K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH25 was last down 4-1/4 cents at $5.44-1/2 a bushel and Minneapolis March spring wheat MWEH25 was last down 2-1/2 cents at $5.89-1/2 a bushel.

CORN - Flat to down 1 cent per bushel

* Corn weak on follow-through selling after sharp declines at midweek as a large South American crop continues to weigh on prices.

* The USDA reported net export sales of old-crop corn at 1,174,600 metric tons, in line with trade estimates of 800,000 to 1,600,000 metric tons.

* CBOT March corn CH25 traded flat at $4.37-1/4 a bushel.

SOYBEANS - Up 2 to 5 cents per bushel

* Soybeans bounced back on short covering after sliding to fresh four-year lows during overnight trading. Forecasts for a huge South American crop and uncertainty around U.S. biofuel policy capped gains.

* Expectations of a bumper crop in South America after a period of regular rains pressured prices, according to analysts.

* The USDA reported weekly net export sales of 1,424,200 metric tons, in line with trade expectations for 825,000 to 2,000,000 metric tons.

* CBOT January soybeans SF25 were last up 4-1/2 cents at $9.56-1/4 per bushel, having still reached contract lows.
