- UK's Royal Mail has warned that its loss-making business will be hit by a further 120 million pounds ($150.96 million) of costs from the budget increase in employer national insurance contributions.
- The Telegraph's New York suitor Dovid Efune has lost a third financial backer with just one week to go before the planned cut-off date for exclusive deal talks for a takeover.

- Britain's Serious Fraud Office (SFO) said it was investigating suspected bribery and corruption at Thales TCFP.PA, Europe's largest defence technology company.
- Three British mining executives from Resolute Mining RSG.AX who had been detained by the government of Mali have been released and are "safe and well", days after agreeing to pay $160m to settle a tax dispute.

- Britain's Guardian Media Group bosses have been accused of "inappropriate" attempts to root out strikers after asking journalists to declare whether they will take part in industrial action next month in an attempt to avoid a temporary halt in its print operations.
- The UK's military equipment is "just not good enough", the UK's Defence Secretary John Healey admitted, a day after after announcing that the military will be hit by 500 million pounds worth of cuts.
