- London-listed goldminer Resolute Mining RSG.AX said it would pay $160 million to the government of Mali to help resolve a tax dispute that has led to its boss and two other executives being detained there.
- An alliance of Christians, including a former Archbishop of Canterbury and the Methodists, have issued an ultimatum to the high-street UK banks, including Barclays BARC.L, HSBC HSBA.L, Lloyds LLOY.L, NatWest NWG.L and Santander UK SANS_pa.L, to stop financing new fossil fuel projects or risk losing their business.
