BP evacuating Schriever, Louisiana, facilities ahead of storm Francine
HOUSTON, Sept 10 (Reuters) -Oil major BP on Tuesday said it is evacuating its onshore learning and maintenance facilities in Schriever, Louisiana, ahead of storm Francine.
The oil and gas producer also is temporarily evacuating and shutting its Castrol lubricants facility in Port Allen, Louisiana. It did not say how many employees were affected.
Francine is forecast to strike the coast of Louisiana on Wednesday as a category 1 hurricane with winds of up to 90 miles per hour (145 kph), according to the latest update of the U.S. National Hurricane Center.
