Joining XM in 2013 as the Head of Investment Research, Michalis Florentiades brought with him a wealth of expertise and knowledge accumulated through his successful career in financial services spanning over 15 years.
Having sparked an early interest in foreign exchange markets, investment strategy and international economic developments; Mr Florentiades attended the London School of Economics (LSE) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. This was complimented soon after by a Master’s degree in Mathematical Trading and Finance from the City University Business School.
His career began in London as a Financial Economist and eventually saw him repatriate to Cyprus where he worked as Head of Research for the Hellenic Bank; the country’s third largest commercial lender. As part of his work for the Hellenic Bank, he wrote a book about the Cyprus and global economies during the period 2004-2011.
Raffi graduated from the London School of Economics in 1999 with a BSc in Business Mathematics and Statistics.
Following graduation, he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Business Recoveries team, where he was responsible for handling the process lifecycle of companies in liquidation.
In 2007, Mr Boyadjian joined Thomson Reuters, covering the Greek-speaking markets for the collection and analysis of company data and corporate news, and he was later promoted to Senior Analyst. In this position, he was responsible for quality control and training delivery. In 2012, he pursued his career as a Data Specialist with responsibilities including for global project coordination, writing user documentation, data analysis and quality enhancement.
Mr Boyadjian joined XM in 2015 as Investment Analyst and completed the in-house training on technical analysis. He is responsible for writing daily market reviews and forex news.
Christina joined the XM investment research department in May 2017.
She holds a master degree in Economics and Business from the Erasmus University Rotterdam with a specialization in International economics. Previously, she earned a bachelor of science in Economics from the University of Cyprus. Apart from foreign exchange markets, her research interests include the impact of International trade on labour markets and product development.
Marios graduated from the University of Reading in 2015 with a BSc in Economics and Econometrics.
Prior to joining XM as an Investment Analyst in December 2017, he was providing financial analysis, reporting and consulting services to one of the largest financial services firms in Cyprus. He specializes in identifying and forecasting trends in the foreign exchange, commodity, and equity markets, predominantly through the utilization of fundamental analysis.
Besides being an active commentator in financial markets, Marios is a keen follower of economic literature as it relates to moral issues, while he is also intrigued by developments in the field of behavioral finance.
Melina joined XM in December 2017 as an Investment Analyst in the Research department. She can clearly communicate market action, particularly technical and chart pattern setups. Her technically focused method looks mainly at price action across multiple time frames to capture big moves that develop over the years. She has more than 3 years of experience in analyzing financial markets, specializing in forex, indices, and commodities.
Melina studied Pure Mathematics at Lancaster University and has a Master's Degree in Monetary and Financial Economics from the University of Cyprus. Currently, she is an associate member of the Society of Technical Analysts (STA) and a Certified Financial Technician (CFTe).
