On Sunday, 28th August, Costas Symeonides arrived safely after a successful ultra SUP marathon from the shores of Crete to the shores of Limassol crossing the Mediterranean Sea, covering a total distance of 700KM in an effort to gather funds for the Center of Preventive Pediatrics.

XM was the main sponsor of this ultra SUP marathon, therefore helping Costas in his attempt, which required supportive boats with a team of 5 along the way to keep him going during his 10-day effort. His goal was to cover 70 km daily for 10 days in order to reach the shores of Limassol on his target date.

Speaking to the press during the charitable event that followed his arrival, he said he was satisfied with the result and ready for some good rest after a difficult journey. He also added that he estimated he would need 3-4 weeks to overcome the pain he had felt in his hands and get back to normal routine.

The XM team, along with sports fans and media representatives welcomed Costas on the shore at 18:30 GMT +2. During the last leg of his ultra marathon Costas was accompanied by his son and fans, who paddled along to escort him to shore.

We would like to congratulate Costas once again for his effort and wish him a good rest.

Below you can view a few photos taken during the journey and upon his arrival.
